DAZN star Diletta Leotta received a warning about her conduct after a colleague`s jealous partner accused her of “putting her a***” in his face.
The well-known Italian TV personality is married to former Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius.
However, this didn`t prevent the jealous wife of Federico Balzaretti from expressing criticism towards Diletta in a recent interview.
Balzaretti, a former Serie A player, worked alongside Diletta as a presenter on DAZN starting in 2019.
The former footballer is married to ballerina Eleonora Abbagnato, who admitted she found Diletta`s attractiveness intimidating.
Abbagnato appeared on a TV show, stating that a “beautiful woman” had made her “jealous.”
She later confirmed to Storie di donne al bivio magazine that the woman she referred to was Diletta Leotta.
Abbagnato stated: “I love my husband just like the first day, and yes, I am jealous [of Diletta].”
“Some time ago in Milan, I happened to meet Leotta. Because she was working with Federico at DAZN, I felt she was overly familiar with him.”
“I immediately stepped in and introduced myself very formally, saying, `Nice to meet you, I am his wife.`”
“Diletta has curves that I don`t possess, but what really upset me were the online memes that showed her and my husband as if they were a couple.”
“I respect and trust my husband; he loves me just as much as when we first met.”
“However, our relationship is strong partly because I am very cautious about anything that could potentially disrupt our harmony.”
“There has never been anything other than a professional relationship between her and Federico.”
“But Diletta is an expressive woman, confident in her appeal, and I wanted to make things clear right away. The wife is me, plain and simple.”
During the show, Abbagnato mentioned one specific incident that sparked her jealous anger.
The ballerina recounted, laughing, “She put her a*** in his face.”
Leotta married Karius last June in Sicily.
The goalkeeper currently plays for Schalke in Bundesliga 2.
Explaining their long-distance relationship, Karius said: “Of course, she was slightly hoping I would join an Italian club.”
“I explained the situation to her. She wishes me the best in my career and is fully supportive.”
“Milan isn`t far. We can find ways to make it work. She`s also very busy, so we`ll both be traveling back and forth.”
Meanwhile, Balzaretti transitioned to covering the Champions League for DAZN before joining his former club Roma as a director in January.
