Cristiano Ronaldo has strongly indicated he will leave Saudi club Al Nassr this summer, according to a recent social media post.

His current contract with the Saudi Arabian team is set to conclude at the end of the season.

Sharing on Instagram, he suggested his time with the Saudi Pro League team is wrapping up, stating: “This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all.”

FIFA president Gianni Infantino recently confirmed that Ronaldo is in discussions with teams participating in the Club World Cup. This expanded tournament is scheduled to begin on June 14 in the United States.

Infantino mentioned that Ronaldo `might play for one of the teams` and that `there are discussions with some clubs,` suggesting potential interest from teams looking to sign him specifically for the competition.

Speculation links Ronaldo, known as CR7, with a potential move to one of the Brazilian teams participating in the US tournament. The four Brazilian clubs involved in the 32-team event are Palmeiras, Flamengo, Fluminense, and Botafogo.

A move to Palmeiras could potentially set up a match against Lionel Messi`s Inter Miami in the group stage. Infantino also didn`t rule out the possibility of Ronaldo ending up at a club that could face Messi, replying “maybe, it could be” when asked about Ronaldo`s next move.

The former star for Manchester United and Real Madrid joined Al Nassr in 2023 on a contract reportedly worth £164 million annually. During his tenure with the Riyadh club, he appeared in 105 matches, scoring 93 goals.

Despite his prolific scoring, he did not secure the Saudi Pro League title. His only major trophy in the region was the Arab Club Champions Cup. However, he did earn his second consecutive Saudi Golden Boot, netting 25 league goals this past season, which saw Al Nassr finish third.
