Daniel Cormier shared his perspective on a potential heavyweight bout between Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall.
“At 38 years old, Jon is contemplating facing a 30-year-old opponent who possesses advantages in size, youth, and freshness,” Cormier observed. “He has surely seen the effects of age on fighters, referencing how Stipe Miocic has gotten older. Now, he`s looking across at this younger challenger.”
Cormier clarified, “It`s not that he`s afraid. However, that situation alone is enough to introduce doubt. What I believe might truly weigh on his mind is the possibility of being knocked out by Aspinall in this fight. He could potentially find himself unconscious on his back. I question whether he wants to be viewed by the world in that specific, vulnerable state.”
