World number three Coco Gauff commented on losing two major finals in a row. She was defeated by Aryna Sabalenka in Madrid with a score of 3/6, 6/7(3), and by Jasmine Paolini in Rome, 4/6, 2/6.
Speaking in a video for the WTA, Gauff shared her perspective:
“Of course, I am very disappointed with these results. But overall, I am approaching Roland Garros with a lot of confidence. I hope to reach the final and win there. I believe I heard Daniil Medvedev say that it is better to lose in the final than in the first round.”
