Fresh off his recent knockout victory at UFC Fight Night 260, Carlos Ulberg has publicly declared his strong desire to act as a backup fighter for a potential rematch between Magomed Ankalaev and Alex Pereira.
Ulberg revealed that immediately following his triumphant fight, he approached UFC executive Hunter Campbell to request a trip to Las Vegas, specifically stating his intention to be an alternate for the anticipated light heavyweight clash. According to Ulberg, Campbell`s positive response has left him optimistic about the opportunity.
Emphasizing his ambition to etch his name in the record books, Ulberg expressed his belief that no fighter has ever competed for a title the very next weekend after a previous bout. He reiterated his primary goal of being present in Las Vegas, affirming that he is prepared to step in and perform the job if designated as the official backup and either Ankalaev or Pereira is unable to compete.
