The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) press service has commented on the victory of four-time Grand Slam champion and world No. 3, Carlos Alcaraz, at the Rome Masters tournament.
In the final match, the Spanish player defeated world No. 1, Italian Jannik Sinner, with a score of 7/6(5), 6/1.
“Following in the footsteps of his idol,” the ATP press service wrote in its post, making an analogy with the legendary Spaniard Rafael Nadal.
This victory on May 18th marks the 19th career title for Carlos Alcaraz. Earlier this season, Alcaraz also won the Monte Carlo Masters and the ATP 500 tournament in Rotterdam.
