World No. 3 Carlos Alcaraz believes that Novak Djokovic is capable of participating in the next summer Olympic Games, scheduled to take place in Los Angeles in 2028.
– In your documentary series, you mentioned that the defeat at the Olympics was one of the toughest moments in your career. What are your thoughts on Novak`s consideration of competing in the next Olympic Games?
Alcaraz responded:
“Novak has the body of a 25-year-old. It`s incredible how he manages to maintain such a high level on court. Yes, there are occasional difficulties with his game; he himself has mentioned that his level can sometimes dip. But his physical form is simply excellent.”
“It all depends on him. If Novak is truly keen on the idea of competing in the next Olympics, he will undoubtedly do it. He`s a maniac in a good sense: he meticulously looks after his body and preparation to be in peak condition. If he sets a goal, he will definitely achieve it.”
“I would be nothing but happy to see him on court in the coming years, sharing great moments in different tournaments. If that happens, I will truly be happy,” Alcaraz stated at a press conference in Rome.
