Brazil has fired its manager, Dorival Junior, after a disappointing 4-1 loss to Argentina.
The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) announced the decision on Friday.

Dorival Junior was appointed just over a year ago to bring stability to the Brazilian national team. However, the former Sao Paolo manager faced criticism for failing to establish a clear team identity.
In a statement, the Brazilian Football Federation stated: “The Brazilian Football Confederation announces that coach Dorival Júnior is no longer the manager of the Brazilian National Team.”
The statement continued: “The board expresses gratitude to the professional and wishes him success in his future endeavors.”
“The CBF will immediately begin the search for his replacement.”
During his tenure, Dorival Junior achieved seven wins, seven draws, and two losses. Brazil was eliminated in the Copa America quarter-finals by Uruguay last year under his leadership.
The defeat to Argentina proved to be the final factor in his dismissal. Argentina won convincingly even without Lionel Messi, widening the gap in points between the rival nations.
Adding to Brazil`s humiliation, Argentina`s goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez was seen doing kick-ups inside his penalty area during the match.
Before Dorival`s appointment, Brazil was heavily linked with Carlo Ancelotti, the manager of Real Madrid.
However, former Chelsea player Filipe Luis is now being considered for the position after a successful period managing Flamengo.
Luis, who has 44 caps for Brazil, has already won three trophies as a manager.
He is currently on an impressive 24-game winning streak, having lost only once as a coach.
His recent success has reportedly drawn the attention of the Brazilian FA as they seek a new national team manager.
