Legendary Swedish tennis player Bjorn Borg, an 11-time Grand Slam champion and former world number one, has disclosed the one tournament title he longed to conquer throughout his illustrious career but never managed to achieve.
When reflecting on his career, Borg was asked about any potential regrets or unfulfilled aspirations.
In response, Borg admitted that winning the US Open remained a slight void in his otherwise stellar record. He stated that while securing the US Open title would have been a cherished accomplishment, he harbors no significant regrets and remains content with his overall achievements in tennis.
Notably, Borg reached the US Open final on four occasions, yet each time he faced defeat. In 1976 and 1978, he was overcome by Jimmy Connors, and in 1980 and 1981, he succumbed to John McEnroe.
