World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka recently shared her perspective on dealing with defeats in championship finals and how she uses these experiences to improve.
“Honestly, losing in finals is kind of a `good problem` to have,” Sabalenka stated during a press conference. “Some losses were genuinely painful; they were hard to accept. But I realize that sometimes you simply need to learn the lesson. Occasionally, you don`t play well, and you have to acknowledge that, learn from your mistakes, and come back stronger. I am proud that after such finals, I found the inner strength to bounce back, made adjustments to my game, verified that the lesson was absorbed, and aimed to perform my best tennis in the subsequent final.”
When asked about Italian fans considering her a standard of beauty and comparing her to Jannik Sinner, Aryna responded with a smile: “I`ve always felt a special connection with Italy! Thank you very much, grazie mille.”
