World number one Aryna Sabalenka shared her perspective on two-week `thousand` level tournaments before starting her campaign at the Madrid Open.
“I like two-week tournaments because the day off between matches allows me to rest, have dinner with the team, or walk around the city. Perhaps in a few years I`ll want to spend more time at home, but for now, I enjoy it.”
On the Automatic Line-Calling System
“I`m in favor of the automatic system because line judges sometimes make mistakes. Court marks aren`t always accurate due to the ball`s trajectory and speed.”
On the Specifics of Clay Court Tennis
“Clay gives you more time for your shots, and that used to confuse me. Many ideas would crowd my head, leading to errors. You need great physical fitness on clay, but tactical intelligence is even more important. This surface helps develop all aspects of the game,” Sabalenka commented during a press conference.
