UFC middleweight contender Anthony Hernandez has offered his forecast for the highly anticipated title fight in his division, pitting reigning champion Dricus Du Plessis against undefeated challenger Khamzat Chimaev.
Sharing his perspective, Hernandez voiced his belief that Du Plessis holds the advantage in the matchup. He specifically highlighted Du Plessis`s toughness and unique style, contrasting it with Chimaev`s experience at middleweight.
To be honest, Dricus is a damn tough and awkward bastard. And Chimaev, in my opinion, hasn’t fought middleweights at all, except for Whittaker. I’m curious to see how he handles a real middleweight who can fight everywhere. After all, Du Plessis shows this in every fight. I think Dricus will win.
Hernandez`s comments were reported by Sportskeeda.
The championship collision between Du Plessis and Chimaev is scheduled to take place on August 17 as part of the UFC 319 event in Chicago, USA.
