Sports news » Andy Roddick Praises Carlos Alcaraz as Favorite Player

Former world number one and 2003 US Open champion, American tennis player Andy Roddick, has expressed his admiration for Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, currently ranked third in the world, calling him his favorite player.

“After his defeat in the Indian Wells semi-finals, many were surprised. However, he remains an incredibly strong player. His performance in the first match in Miami wasn`t his best. But I am a devoted fan of his, he is the player whose game I follow with the greatest interest. At times, his inconsistency makes him seem like a regular person. You can see how he analyzes the situation and makes decisions directly during the game,” Roddick was quoted as saying by Sportskeeda.

At the Monte Carlo Masters tournament, Carlos Alcaraz will begin his participation from the second round, where his opponent will be the winner of the match between Fabio Fognini (Italy) and Francisco Cerundolo (Argentina).
