Russian tennis player Andrey Rublev, currently ranked 17th in the world, commented on the return of Italian star Jannik Sinner to the tour at the Rome Masters. The original report mentioned that Sinner was returning after a three-month disqualification for clostebol.

Asked about Sinner`s return today, May 5th, and how he views the situation as a fellow player, Rublev initially seemed surprised by Sinner`s presence. He called Sinner a “hero” and a “home hero,” adding, “So I think for tennis, it`s a big event – the Masters in Italy plus Sinner`s first tournament back. It will attract a lot of attention to the tournament, and that`s the most important thing for the players.”

When questioned if he was surprised that Sinner had managed to retain his World No. 1 ranking, Rublev was candid. “Honestly, I don`t care at all, in a good way,” he replied, laughing slightly. “It`s not my problem, so there`s nothing for me to be surprised about. He should be either happy or surprised. Or maybe someone who wanted to overtake him. As for me, I`m just on the sidelines,” Rublev concluded with a smile.
