Artem Derepasko, Mirra Andreeva`s former coach, commented on her impressive breakthrough in professional tennis. Derepasko trained Andreeva before her move to France.
– What is the reason for Mirra`s significant progress this season?
– First and foremost, it`s the result of the well-coordinated work of her current team. She has a great working relationship with her coach Conchita Martinez. – Mirra`s foundational skills, developed in childhood – a combination style of play, court vision, tactically sound play – have remained with her. Her ability to play “chess” on the court is her advantage. She often outplays opponents tactically. Added to this is improved physical fitness. Her shots have become more powerful and solid, while maintaining stability. Mirra has significantly improved her serve. Few female tennis players regularly win points with their serve, but she can.
