World No. 2 German tennis player Alexander Zverev has revealed his thoughts on his current season.
“While Roland Garros remains my primary focus, the Rome Masters is a significant goal for me this season. I am really looking forward to the possibility of playing against Sinner, ideally in the final of the tournament. It will be fascinating to see what unfolds this time. He has been diligently working on his recovery and training, refining his shots and movement. It won`t be long before he`s back to his Australian Open form.”
“The period after Melbourne was quite challenging for me. My South American tour left me feeling both disappointed and exhausted. Ideally, I would have preferred to rest, but tennis is my profession, and commitments had to be honored. To be clear, the venues and fans in South America were wonderful, but I feel much more comfortable at home,” Zverev stated in a La Repubblica interview.
It`s worth noting that Alexander Zverev faced Jannik Sinner in the Australian Open 2025 final, where he was defeated with a score of 3-6, 6-7(4), 3-6. This marked Zverev`s third Grand Slam final loss in his career.
