World No. 2 Alexander Zverev discussed his recent loss to Arthur Fils in the fourth round of the Miami Masters (6-3, 3-6, 4-6).
Zverev stated that he has been losing many matches lately despite feeling in control. He mentioned that the Miami match followed a similar pattern, emphasizing the need to focus more on his own game.
He believes his performance in Miami was an improvement compared to previous weeks. However, Zverev pointed out that he had a break advantage in the third set and should not have lost the match. He lamented giving away four consecutive games. He also recalled similar instances in Indian Wells, Rio, and Buenos Aires where he lost matches after being in a leading position. Zverev concluded by acknowledging this recurring issue and expressing his determination to overcome it.
