UFC light heavyweight contender Alex Pereira has expressed strong concerns that he may have suffered a fractured leg during his recent rematch against Magomed Ankalaev.
Pereira detailed his strategic approach for the fight, explaining, “I had a great strategy for the rematch with Ankalaev, which, as you have already seen, worked in the fight with Blachowicz. The calf strikes were effective.” He elaborated that his initial plan involved utilizing low kicks, which proved successful for a period, until Ankalaev adapted his defense by altering his stance and adjusting the distance.
Describing the moment he believes the injury occurred, Pereira stated, “Then I landed another strike on his front leg, but it turned out that I only caught him with my toes. I am almost sure that I have a fracture.” This specific kick, where he felt an unusual connection, has led him to a firm belief that he sustained a fracture to his leg.
