Alex Pereira Admits Only “40% Readiness” in First Bout Against Magomed Ankalaev

Sports news » Alex Pereira Admits Only “40% Readiness” in First Bout Against Magomed Ankalaev

UFC standout Alex Pereira has candidly revealed that he was far from his optimal physical state during his initial encounter with Magomed Ankalaev, performing at significantly less than half of his true potential.

“Accepting defeat is not easy. However, in all honesty, when I consider everything I`ve endured and the circumstances I`ve faced – which I won`t detail now – I`m actually content with how I managed to perform in that fight.”

He further elaborated on his condition, stating, “That evening, I was operating at only 40% of my capability. It`s evident that for our next meeting, that figure will be substantially higher. Even if I only reach 50%, that seemingly small 10% increase will create such a colossal difference that it will be undeniable, leaving no room for doubt,” the Brazilian fighter asserted.

It`s worth noting that Magomed Ankalaev, for his part, has previously expressed confidence, vowing to knock out Pereira in their upcoming clash.
