World No. 32 Alejandro Tabilo commented on his victory over Novak Djokovic in the second round of the Monte-Carlo Masters (6/3, 6/4).
“Of course, everyone knows how strong Djokovic is in all aspects, especially mentally. I felt ready to step onto the court and accept the challenge. I was настроен ( настроился – set myself up) to win. I managed to start excellently, and I tried to continue in the same vein throughout the match. I noticed that in some moments I made him feel uncomfortable. I`m happy with my game,” Tabilo said in an interview with Tennis Channel.
It is noted that the Chilean is the third tennis player who has faced Djokovic at least twice and has never lost, after Marat Safin and Jiří Veselý. He also won their previous head-to-head match in Rome 2024.
