Football icon Alan Shearer recounted a funny incident concerning his daughter`s boyfriend`s disastrous trip to the London Marathon.
The 24-year-old son of the Newcastle United legend, Will, participated in the challenging 26.2-mile London Marathon course yesterday.

Will received support from his entire family, including his father, mother Lainya, and sisters Chloe and Hollie.
Shearer`s older daughter, 31-year-old Chloe, is dating former rugby player Micky Young. Micky also traveled to London after attending Newcastle`s 3-0 victory over Ipswich on Saturday.
Young intended to catch the 5:59 PM train but made a significant mistake.
Speaking on the Rest Is Football Podcast, Shearer related the event: “He arrived at the station five minutes ahead of time, boarded the train, and then heard an announcement saying, `Welcome to everyone heading to Edinburgh`.”
The train traveled directly to Edinburgh. He then checked various transportation options like flights and cars.
Instead, he ended up taking a Mega Bus. Specifically, the 10 PM Mega Bus, which cost him £30 for the journey from Edinburgh to London.
He finally reached London at 6:45 AM the following morning.
Shearer commented on the situation: “I told him, `And you`re supposed to be looking after my f***ing daughter in the future?`”
He added that the bus stopped at Dunbar, Leeds, and Sheffield, exclaiming, “Oh, you idiot.”
The anecdote greatly amused his podcast co-hosts, Gary Lineker and Micah Richards.
Will completed the London Marathon, running to support the Alan Shearer Foundation, finishing in approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes.
Shearer congratulated his son on Instagram, writing: “Time for a well-earned beer @willshearer9, you smashed it. Proud of you running for the @alanshearerfoundation. Thank you.”
Young is a former professional rugby scrum-half who played for teams including the Newcastle Falcons, Leicester Tigers, and Bath.
