The 2025 Stanley Cup playoffs are here, and the goalie mask designs are capturing attention. These artistic expressions might just steal the spotlight.
Goalies frequently use their masks to showcase their personality. While they typically maintain team color schemes, the opportunities for inventive designs are abundant.
Logan Thompson of the Washington Capitals paid tribute to the `National Treasure` films with a drawing of Nicolas Cage. Jacob Markstrom of the New Jersey Devils displayed his team spirit with a vibrant red devil head on his mask.
This is just a glimpse of what`s out there. Let`s examine some of the most notable masks worn by goalies in this postseason. Keep in mind that some of the most unique masks might not be used during the playoffs.

Carolina Hurricanes
Pyotr Kochetkov
This Russian goalie from Penza continues with his effective, yet simple mask design. It incorporates elements of his hometown and features a red-eyed bear on top.
Frederik Andersen
Andersen is known for Lego-inspired masks, including one featuring a Danish Viking, which he continues to wear this season. He has also introduced a mask with a dinosaur and a hidden Lego Batman on the side.
Colorado Avalanche
Mackenzie Blackwood
After a midseason trade from San Jose, Blackwood quickly customized his masks. Designed by David Gunnarsson, his options include a Rocky Mountain theme and a design featuring the Avalanche mascot, Bernie.
Scott Wedgewood
Wedgewood also acquired mid-season, has two distinctive designs. One showcases the `Game of Thrones` Night King on the chin with alternating colored dragons on the sides. The other design features his two dogs and daughter.
Dallas Stars
Jake Oettinger
Oettinger consistently includes otters on his masks, and this season is no different. This time, an otter rides a bull in a Western-themed design created by the Stars` equipment team. He also has a simpler otter design for Dallas` all-black uniform.
Casey DeSmith
DeSmith also adopts a Western theme, including a design for the team`s all-black uniforms.

Edmonton Oilers
Stuart Skinner
Skinner`s mask options feature similar designs to match the Oilers` white and blue uniforms.
Calvin Pickard
Pickard`s simple design references Edmonton`s team name with an oil drop on the top.
Florida Panthers
Sergei Bobrovsky
Bobrovsky`s `brick by brick` series includes a red and purple color scheme.
Los Angeles Kings
Darcy Kuemper
Following the Kings` offseason redesign, Kuemper has incorporated the team`s new logos into a stylish mask.
David Rittich
Rittich`s all-silver mask is adorned with Bart Simpson wearing a crown.
Minnesota Wild
Filip Gustavsson
Gustavsson`s helmet features a large `M` on top and the Wild logo on the sides.
Marc-Andre Fleury
Regardless of the Wild`s playoff outcome, Fleury can conclude his distinguished career with a notable mask. It includes logos of Minnesota`s professional sports teams – the Timberwolves (NBA), Twins (MLB), and Vikings (NFL).
Montreal Canadiens
Sam Montembeault
Montembeault`s masks contain subtle details, not immediately obvious. One mask pays tribute to Canadiens goalie legends Jacques Plante, Ken Dryden, and Patrick Roy, with banners for each retired number. It also incorporates stitching reminiscent of older Canadiens uniforms.
His futuristic cyborg mask, designed by Jordon Bourgeault, cleverly integrates the classic masks of Plante and Dryden as the cyborg`s face.
Jakub Dobes
Dobes sports a winter ice blue theme, complete with a wolf on top and `Doby` inscribed on the chin.
New Jersey Devils
Jacob Markstrom
Markstrom`s masks live up to the Devils` name with spooky and versatile designs. Another Bourgeault design, one mask features a red devil on top with spears on the sides. For games when the Devils wear black uniforms, Markstrom has a matching dark mask.

Jake Allen
Allen`s masks share a similar design, differentiated only by color – one in black and the other in white.

Ottawa Senators
Linus Ullmark
Ullmark continues his `Sens N Stripes` series, including a sharp chrome design.
Anton Forsberg
Forsberg often includes his children on his masks, a tradition continued with artist Dave Fried. His dog is featured on both masks, and Peppa Pig appears on a darker version.
St. Louis Blues
Jordan Binnington
The Blues logo is prominently displayed on the side of Binnington`s mask, with icicles hanging from `Blues` on the top.
Joel Hofer
Similar to Binnington, Hofer uses the Blues` color scheme but adds dice and a flopping fish to his design.
Tampa Bay Lightning
Andrei Vasilevskiy
Vasilevskiy`s masks are consistently contenders for the most unique. One is black and blue on ice, changing to white and pale blue at room temperature. He also has a stylish light blue and white mask.
Jonas Johansson
Lightning bolts are the central theme of Johansson`s mask, including a sleek black design.
Toronto Maple Leafs
Joseph Woll
Two of Woll`s masks share a theme, featuring Trolltunga (`Troll`s Tongue`), a scenic location in Norway.
Anthony Stolarz
Stolarz will wear a clean and chrome design in the playoffs.
Vegas Golden Knights
Adin Hill
With F1 in Las Vegas, Hill sports an appropriately themed mask. He also has a `cowboy knight` design with four cards on the back.
Ilya Samsonov
Samsonov`s mask includes the Knights` logo on the back and swords on the sides.
Washington Capitals
Logan Thompson
Thompson is a strong contender for the best pop culture-themed mask. It features a realistic depiction of Nicolas Cage from `National Treasure` on both sides. The back also includes the Washington Monument and his two dogs.
Charlie Lindgren
Lindgren has a great retro mask with 3D details that stand out.
Winnipeg Jets
Connor Hellebuyck
Hellebuyck has options: a mask matching Winnipeg`s heritage uniforms or a streamlined all-white design.
Eric Comrie
With a prominent jet on the top and sides, Comrie`s mask is a solid choice for this postseason.
